A 278-unit Leed Certified residential building conceived as a bridge between the dense urban fabric of historic Brooklyn and a new publicly accessible green-space that repairs a blighted urban condition.(see Pacific Park Brooklyn)
A rethinking of the modernist “Machine for Living”, 550 Vanderbilt incorporates the latest high-performance air distributions, solar screens, and multiple setback terraces and integrated planting boxes which are irrigated with harvested rain water. A massive rooftop organic arm offers occupants small plots to tend as well as creating a lively social meeting place.
